Pilates & Resistance Training
Total Body Wellness' Pilates program allows clients to incorporate resistance training, the process of exercising with progressively heavier resistance for the purpose of strengthening the musculoskeletal system, into their regular workout.
Private sessions at our Los Ranchos de Albuquerque studio use specially designed Pilates equipment to add resistance to your workout. Clients enjoy a challenging workout using the weight of springs, and their own body weight, as they move through the traditional Pilates exercises. Instructors will incorporate free weights into your workout when appropriate.
We also offer Pilates Sculpt, a mat class that incorporates weight training, yoga and pilates into a intensive, well-balanced class.
Adding Resistance Training to your exercise regime will:
- Increase muscle strength, bone strength, endurance and stamina
- Increase lean muscle mass
- Increase metabolic rate causing our body to burn more calories even at rest

At Total Body Wellness you may strength train personally or with a partner or you can incorporate Pilates equipment work or a strength class into your regime. |
