Description of Pilates Classes at Los Ranchos de Albuquerque Studio

Advanced reservations are required for full classes. Pilates Classes are all conducted barefoot. Please bring your own mat for classes; limited mats are available for new students only.

Private Pilates sessions with an instructor prior to entering a class are strongly encouraged.

Saturday Morning Bootcamp

Pilates Matwork/ Pure Pilates

Enjoy the benefits of increased back and abdominal strength in this Total Body workout. You will gain strength, flexibility and joy!
Pilates Matwork and Pure Pilates will take you through the classical exercises of Joe Pilates. Pilates Matwork may include props.

Wunda Chair / Mat Combo

Considered to be the most challenging piece of Pilates equipment in terms of building strength in the legs and shoulders. Great for skiers, runners, tennis players, golfers and for clients looking to increase power in the upper body for throwing, lifting, racquet sports or overall fitness! Combined with the traditional matwork series this class is an experience you will not forget. Class limited to 8 participants.

Contemporary Pilates

Pilates with a twist. Increase your strength, endurance, stamina and release the stresses of your day with this enjoyable class! *This class is not meant for those whose doctors or Physical Therapists have recommended Pilates.

Yoga

Sessions are fused with imaginative sequencing, blending fluid movement with precise postural alignment and spacious breathing. Studens are encouraged to journey through their practice with compassion, attention, enthusiasm and grace. All levels welcome.

Group Equipment

Enjoy the benefits of working on the reformer and/or wunda chair in a small group setting. Reformer/chair experience and teacher approval required. Limited to 4 participants.

Pilates Sculpt

This unique and challenging class combines resistance training, Pilates, yoga and meditation for a total body workout. Free weights, balls, bands and magic circles may be used.

GYROKINESIS®

GYROKINESIS® exercises allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation. This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated along with the movements.
