Pilates and Fitness Teacher Training and Intern Program in Albuquerque
500 Hour Pilates Matwork and Equipment Program 75 Hour Pilates Matwork Program
It is the goal of Total body Wellness to make Teacher training more affordable and more easily achievable for the person seeking certification.
After initial deposit, Course fee can be paid monthly for up to 12 months or until the PMA Test is taken which ever comes first.
This 500 hour program will prepare the successful candidate to take the Pilates Method Alliance Teacher Certification and to teach both mat work classes and private Pilates sessions. The pre-requisite for this program is an intermediate level of practice and understanding of Levels I-II equipment and Levels I-IV Pilates mat work exercises. (In order to teach equipment classes or post-rehab clients, additional training is required.)

Final Testing consists of the following: Written Exam Written exam is a preparatory exam for the PMA test and will prepare you for questions that you might find on the test. Exam will be taken at Total Body Wellness, 6501 4th Street NW, Ste G, Abq, NM 87107. Written exam should be taken before the Practical. Practical Exam Students are asked to perform a Level IV Mat workout or Level IV reformer workout using the Total Body Wellness order of exercises; the examiner chooses the workout the student will perform. In addition, student may be asked to perform other exercises from the Total Body Wellness syllabus on other pieces of equipment. The student may be asked to demonstrate safe equipment setup, exercise execution, or correct spotting technique for specific exercises. Teaching Test Students will teach a 55 minute Pilates Method lesson to a client provided by the examiner. The lesson will be based on the particular needs of the client. Also, the student submits a written defense of this lesson, an evaluation of the client, and a 3-month lesson plan. This shall be submitted no later than one-week after the session.
The 75-hour Pilates mat work program will prepare the successful candidate to teach Pilates mat work classes. The pre-requisite for this program is a knowledge and ability to perform levels I-IV Pilates mat work exercises. 12 Private Sessions 28 Pilates Mat Class 10 Workshop Hours (Workshop hours will consist of Contraindications, Basic Anatomy, Client Evaluation, Teaching the Client, Use of Props in Mat Work)
15 Hours Assistant Teaching/Observation 10 Hours Student Teaching
